About

Ron Fink and the Rowdies have played for ATJS the past two years. Favoring the professional-level written arrangements, they have the classical training to read these intricate charts, and the innate jazz sense to make them swing. It’s a great combination and one that is difficult to bring off. Based in Dallas, the Rowdies feature these fine musicians: Bob Krenkel on reeds, Brian Standridge on trumpet and Gene LeBeaux on trombone. Banjoist Scott Whitfield is nationally-known, and bassist Matt Tolentino is a multi-instrument talent. Kent Ellingson is a fine pianist, and Ron Fink holds the group together on drums. This will be an incredible concert and not to be missed! Come and see the fun at Cap City Comedy Club on Sunday November 11, from 2 – 5 pm. Doors open at 1 pm. Admission: Free for ATJS members $5.00 - Austin Swing Syndicate Members $5.00 - Austin Jazz Society Members $10.00 - General Admission $5.00 - Students with ID Cap City features good food, full bar, (suggested minimum: 2 items, food or drink), 2 dance floors, and ample free parking.
