Merlin Works guest troupe — A collection of past and current Merlin Works students perform improv games based on audience input and participation! Merlin Works Singing Improv 301 graduation – Merlin Works Improv Singing students perform an improvised musical using all the skills they’ve built in Improv Singing 101-301! Merlin Works faculty troupe The Known Wizards rounds out the evening with spontaneous scenes, hilarious games, surprisingly good songs, and fantastic stories all made up on the spot. You say it, they play it—like magic!

Merlin Works is the brainchild of Shana Merlin: improviser, teacher, and performer. Since 1996, she’s been leading classes that stretch people’s imaginations, push them out of their comfort zones, and make them laugh out loud for hours at a time. In 2008, we opened the Merlin Works Institute for Improvisation, a school offering classes in shortform gameplay, improvised plays, and musical improv at the Salvage Vanguard Theater. Hundreds of students and classes later, Merlin Works lives at the ZACH Theatre on the shores of Lady Bird Lake. If you want to be part of the best improv school in Austin, come join us.
