Spend an evening with the talented women of SoCo Women's Chorus as we take you on an exciting journey. Enjoy music from all genres: Gospel, Latin, Swahili, Hebrew and everything in between! There is something for everyone in this diverse line up that is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Throughout the performance our lovely voices will be accompanied by hand bells, a string quartet and bongos! We can't wait to share this holiday magic with you all!

Presenter Details

• Name: SoCo Women's Chorus

SoCo Women’s Chorus was established by Founding Artistic Director Janey Hall in 2012. The chorus is currently made up of approximately 30 talented women that come from diverse backgrounds and musical abilities. We are daughters, sisters, mothers, wives, partners, and grandmothers. We are students, teachers, lawyers, business owners, mentors, caregivers, health care professionals, songwriters, musicians, saleswomen, managers, and retirees. We have different ethnicities, sexual preferences, and spiritual beliefs. Yet, despite all of our differences, we have this in common: We love creating and sharing music with our community.

The music we sing is as varied as we are. It ranges from lullabies to rock, from pop music to Quaker hymns, from patriotic to spiritual, and from contemporary to medieval. We have sung in Latin, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, German, Gaelic, Hebrew, Hawaiian, and in the West African language of Yoruba. We’ve also translated select performances in American Sign Language for those with hearing loss. We enjoy mixing things up and we welcome challenges!
