RISUS QUARTET 

 FREE MIDDAY CONCERT IN THE DRAYLEN MASON

KMFA Classical 89.5 welcomes the Risus Quartet to the Draylen Mason Music Studio for a special noontime concert on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. 

Based in South Korea, Risus Quartet comes to Austin as the Young Professional String Quartet in Residence at the UT Butler School of Music beginning in Fall of 2021. The group received the Gold Medal and Grand Prize in the 2021 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

Every two years, one advanced pre-professional ensemble is selected for a two-year residency with the Miró Quartet. The chosen quartet receives weekly instruction and private study with members of the Miró Quartet, performs with the Symphony Orchestra or the New Music Ensemble on a rotational basis, and receives comprehensive guidance in career management. 

The concert is FREE and open to the public.

Guests are asked to arrive no later than 11:45 a.m. at the KMFA building, located at 41 Navasota Street in the Hatchery.  

• Driving south on I-35: Take Exit 234A Cesar Chavez St. /Holly St. Turn left onto Holly Street. Turn right onto Navasota Street. KMFA will be on your left-hand side at 41 Navasota St.
• Driving north on I-35: Take Exit 234A Cesar Chavez St. /Holly St. Turn right onto Holly Street. Turn right onto Navasota Street. KMFA will be on your left-hand side at 41 Navasota St.
• Park in any space around the building or in the garage beneath. 
• Enter from the front patio through the glass.
• Face coverings will be required for all attendees. It is highly encouraged that guests be vaccinated to help control the spread of COVID-19. If you do not feel well, please stay home.
