HIGHWAY LIGHTS
"POWER OF A PLANET" ALBUM RELEASE
NOVEMBER 7 | 8:00 P.M. | CENTRAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Journey to Saturn in this immersive one-night-only planetarium experience at Central Presbyterian Church featuring a premier concert performance by ambient classical duo Highway Lights and a video and light installation by cinematographer Anlo Sepulveda and Rocket Cinema. "General Admission" tickets are seated. "Pew" ticket purchasers are invited to lie down in the pews to experience imagery projection mapped on the ceiling.
Cellist Sara Nelson and keyboardist Justin Sherburn will perform their new album "Power of a Planet" accompanied by NASA imagery manipulated by Sepulveda, best known for his work on the acclaimed documentary "Yakona".
Each movement on Power of a Planet is named for a moon of the planet Saturn. The compositions shift between tone poems and playful interplay between keyboards and cello. The grandeur and beauty of the iconic planet is represented here, as well as the stark loneliness of space. Director of the acclaimed San Marcos River documentary Yakona, Sepulveda has combined NASA imagery of Saturn and its moons with practical effects and his unique storytelling to create a visual accompaniment to the Power of a Planet album.
