About the Artist

Born and raised in Costa Rica, Esteban Alvarez’s music defies categorization, weaving together pop, Latin, classical, and experimental traditions. His debut album, Tico Groove, featured legendary collaborators Ignacio Berroa (Dizzy Gillespie’s drummer) and bassist Lynn Seaton (Count Basie Orchestra). His follow-up, Piano Meets Mariachi, paired his piano artistry with the vibrant sounds of Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlán, celebrating the beloved musical traditions of Mexico.

Esteban’s international career has taken him to festivals and concert halls across Israel, Hong Kong, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Cuba, Chile, Mexico, Costa Rica, Serbia, and beyond. His latest project, Roots of the World, unites renowned artists from Latin America in a dazzling tapestry of global sound.

Beyond the stage, Esteban is deeply committed to inspiring the next generation, showing young musicians not only how to play but how to share their passion with the world.
