Open the season with a program that reflects both depth and clarity as Peter Bay begins his final season. Theofanidis’ Rainbow Body unfolds in shimmering layers, drawing the listener into a world of sound and reflection. Violinist Geneva Lewis returns to Austin to bring precision and insight to Brahms’ Violin Concerto, a work of both strength and lyricism. Sibelius’ Fifth Symphony closes the evening with a sense of scale and purpose, shaped by nature and driven by momentum. This concert invites audiences to experience contrast, structure, and emotional range in a compelling season opening.

"The mission of the Austin Symphony Orchestra Society, Inc. is to enhance the cultural quality of life for the adults and young people of Austin and Central Texas by providing excellence in music performance and educational programming.”

Founded in 1911, the Austin Symphony Orchestra is the city’s oldest performing arts organization. The Symphony presents a full season of musical and educational programming, including the Masterworks Series and the Butler Pops Series, which run from September through May at the state-of-the-art Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts. Special events include the Halloween Children’s Concert, Handel’s Messiah, and free community concerts during the summer.  The James C. Armstrong Youth Educations Programs include ASO Tuneful Tales, Young People’s Concerts, and a variety of other school programs.
