From the chants of Hildegard von Bingen to the polyphonic brilliance of Guillaume de Machaut, and from the raucous Italian dances of The Decameron to the subtle creations of the courts of Burgundy, we will explore the best and most characteristic Medieval music from England, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy.

Season tickets available now! TEMP invites you to join us in a journey of more than 600 years of musical transformation, gathered through our 39 years of exploring early music repertoire as an ensemble. Apart from our annual Joy and Light: Delights of the Season concert, we will present a concert season that will be an early music primer for both the long-time fans and for those newly attracted to early music. In these three programs (one each for the Medieval period, the Renaissance, and the early Baroque) you’ll hear some old (very old) favorites and discover many “new” ancient tunes, some that we haven’t performed for decades. It’s Early Music 101 but without a final exam. You’ll be transported by the sounds of rich and diverse cultures while tasting the harmonic palettes and musical delights of our ancestors.
