November 5 marks the 350th anniversary of the death of Franz Tunder, the originator of Lübeck's famous Abendmusiken. Ancient Voices celebrates his life and music with vocal works, plus a few pieces for Tunder's own instrument, the organ. 

All works were composed by Franz Tunder, unless specified otherwise. All organ pieces are played by Pamela Ruiter-Feenstra at the North German Organ in Örgryte nya kyrka, Göteborg, Sweden. 

  • Praeludium in G (Dorian). An Wasserflüssen Babylon. Performed by Erin Headley, soprano, and Tirami Su. 
  • Dominus illuminatio mea, performed by Theatre of Voices. Komm Heiliger Geist (organ). 
  • In dich hab ich gehoffet, Herr (organ). Nisi dominus, performed by the Rheinische Kantorei and Das Kleine Konzert. Salve coelistis pater, performed by Harry van der Kamp, bass. 
  • Dieterich Buxtehude: Liebster, meine Seele saget. Performed by sopranos Erin Headley and Laurie Reviol, and Tirami Su. 
  • Closing music: Canzona for organ by Franz Tunder.
