This week's program focuses on the marriage of Charles, Duke of Burgundy, called the Bold, and Margaret of York in 1468. We'll hear from composers who were in Charles' employ, like Hayne van Ghizeghem and Robert Morton, plus a mass by Walter Frye from the Burgundian Court Manuscript, which contains pictorial clues linking it to the royal wedding.

  • Robert Morton: L'Homme armé à 4, performed by Capella de la Torre. Le souvenir de vous me tue, performed by The Consort of Musicke. Ma dame, trop vous mespranés (attributed to Charles the Bold), performed by Gothic Voices.
  • Walter Frye: Missa Summa Trinitati, performed by The Binchois Consort.
  • Anon: La Plus Grant Chière, performed by The Orlando Consort.
  • Hayne van Ghizeghem: De tous biens plaine, performed by Hesperion XXI. Robert Morton: Il sera par vous-L'homme armé. Performed by Ensemble Nusmido.
