Join KMFA Classical 89.5 for a relaxing Sunday morning at the Acoustic Sunrise Brunch, hosted at The Urban Pour Social inside Hotel Indigo in Downtown Austin.

This month, we’re thrilled to feature a special live performance by Mallory McHenry, an acclaimed harpist whose warm, elegant sound will set the perfect mood for a leisurely and uplifting brunch experience. Based in Austin, Mallory is known for her versatile style that blends classical, contemporary, and soulful influences, creating an unforgettable musical backdrop for your Sunday.

You'll also be welcomed by KMFA Host Jeffrey Blair, who will be on hand to greet listeners and guests and help set the tone for a beautiful morning of music, food, and community.

The chef-curated brunch buffet will include:

• Chef-prepared omelette station

• Carving station

Tickets: $65 per person 

• Valet parking is included for all brunch guests.

• Guests are welcome to arrive anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

• Seating is first come, first served, with both family-style and individual group tables available.

• Gratuity and alcoholic beverages are not included in the ticket price.

ABOUT MALLORY MCHENRY:

Dr. Mallory McHenry, NCTM is a vibrant musician and educator located in Austin, Texas where she serves on the University of Texas at Austin, Butler School of Music faculty as Lecturer of Harp. 

Mallory has a love for premiering new works and has had the opportunity to work with several composers in creating new works for the harp. Offering masterclasses in harp composition.

As an avid performer, Mallory appeared as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and frequently appears with the Dallas Winds and the U.S. Air Force Band of the West. She has made appearances with the Austin Civic Orchestra, the Laredo Philharmonic and the Valley Symphony Orchestra. Mallory has presented recital programs and lectures with the American Harp Society Southern Region as well as the American Harp Society in Dallas in collaboration with the Mu Phi Epsilon Dallas Public Library concert series. Mallory also enjoys her time touring as a member of the professional choral group, the Jason Max Ferdinand Singers and also assists their administrative team as Creative Director and Director of Education Advancement. Most recently, Mallory joined JMFS on Saturday Night Live with Coldplay and Jacob Collier and appeared at the National American Choral Directors Association Conference in 2023 as the headlining ensemble.

Mallory was named a Young Artist in Residence with American Public Media and YourClassical’s program, Performance Today. She was the first harpist to air on the show. The program was recorded at Minnesota Public Radio and aired on local National Public Radio stations. Mallory returned to MPR as a founding member of the chamber group, e(L)ement for the academic school years 2020-2024 as a concert artist with their Class Notes series.
